YAY I just bought a CD Civil Defense Geiger Counter (inspected 1972 1975) so I'm going to get some readings.
September 2011 I found 150 CPM on Red Seawead at Baker Beach SF.
70 CPM on Feather Boa Kelp on Baker Beach SF.
and high readings on the PLANTS in the LAVA ROCK between the parking lot and Ocean Beach SF.
That same month I found no anomalous readings from dairy products or from any of the fruits or veggies on the sidewalk store on Haight St. and nothing from Ben and Jerry's on Haight Ashbury, but I was blocked by the glass and counter, so could not get too close.
But tested lots of other dairy products and did not get results.
No results on the streets / gutters in Palo Alto or SF
